I no
longer breed cats, there's simply not enough time. The only cats I now have at home are my
three old ones, Agge who was my very first "home made" Maine Coon, Ghoya who is
the most fantastic cat mother I've ever had the pleasure to know and also my sole mate and
Nora who is also my own breeding but sadly enough turned out to be sterile. And then
there's Tai-Pan. I got him because I wanted to have a show cat. I got a lot more!!
He is beautiful but hates shows so he is now in self retirement, pestering the old cats to
no end! I had only asked one thing of him at shows and that was that he beat any MCO he
went up against and he did that! When the hormons got the best of him it didn't help even
with early neutering, he just doesn't want to perform! But he is a lovely cat, wild,
clumsy, not leaving anything be, cuddly and so much more fun now when he doesn't have the
pressure of the shows hanging over him anymore. He is a much loved child, all the
different pet names we have for him proves it! Of the cats, Tai-Pan and Ghoya have the
TICA-look, Agge and Nora have the CFA-look. The TICA-standard is the one in force today in
Europe within the FIFé organization for the Maine Coon. |
